Farewell Fiona
It is with mixed emotions that we are saying thank you and farewell at the end of the year to Fiona who has been an integral member of the Life Project community for many year.
Fiona established and led our Parent Carer Drop-In sessions for many years – providing an inviting, warm, friendly, and safe environment for Parent Carers to gather each week. There was always delicious cake and space for those who attended to gather with other facing similar joys and challenges as parents to those additional needs. Peer support, advice and guidance was encouraged and Fiona provided a listening ear to many during periods of particular struggles. The weekly sessions were complimented with periodic retreats that involved treating parents to quality food, Pilates and arts in a beautiful venue.
Delicious food is something we are very grateful for, as Fiona as been at Activity Leader for cooking at the Barn, supporting Makers to Makers to prepare meals for those attending Day Services, and making the most of fresh produce from our allotment when it is available. Fiona has promoted healthy eating, listening to Makers likes, dislikes and needs, whilst also encouraging the trying of new foods. Of course there have also been some delicious cakes and other treats along the way!
Most importantly Fiona is a much valued of our team and has shared were warmth and wisdom with us and our Makers. She responds to the needs of individual Makers, communicating sensitively and encouraging Makers not only to participate but to achieve.
It is with a sense of sadness that we are saying farewell to Fiona, because there is so much we are thankful for. However, we are also excited… excited for Fiona and her family as they follow a God given dream to support young people with additional through Forest School and other programmes that bring young people together to engage with the natural world.
We had our final team meeting with Fiona recently and shared that she goes into this new season with our blessing and will always be part of the Life Project family.
Do join us in praying for Fiona and her family as they embark on this new and exciting season.
Thank you Fiona, for all you have done for and all you have brought to the Life Project.
