Decorating the Barn
Thanks to the help of some amazing volunteers, back in October 2024 we started to decorate the Old Acorn Barn. However, it was a bigger job that we anticipated and so we now need to go back and finish the job!
As we break for half term this February we are going back in with brushes and rollers to paint the main work room, the bottom half of the stairwell, and to finish the toilet and area by the back door.
Our efforts in October made a positive impact to the kitchen and art room so it will be wonderful to have freshly painted walls throughout.
Our 2 days of decorating will take place on Saturday 15th and Tuesday 18th February and you can sign up to let us know when you plan to attend using this link to the sign up form:

There are 4 sessions taking place across the 2 days (morning and afternoon) but do sign up even if you can only make it for part of a session. In some senses it is “the more the merrier” and “many hands make light work” but we also have limited space so we are hoping for a good balance of volunteers across each session.
Each day there will be tea, coffee, and refreshments but if you will be coming over the lunch period we ask that you would bring your own packed lunch.
All of the walls will be cleared and holes filled in advance so it really is all about the paint, ’bout the paint, ’bout the paint!
Due to the nature of the jobs we ask that anyone aged under 18 years is accompanied by an adult.
Please wear appropriate clothing for painting… something you won’t mind when it gets paint on!
We are unable to provide transport to the Barn so if you rely on public transport or taxi’s we apologies, but also encourage you to ask a friend who can give you a life and then there will be an extra decorator!
