Big Give Pledge Plea

SUPPORT NEW PROVISION FOR LEARNING DISABILITIES

The Life Project (Bath) is a small Bath based charity, we are a supportive community for people with learning disabilities, their families, and carers. We are at capacity and there is demand for additional Day Service sessions, we are raising funds to open an additional day and we would love your help.

We are looking for local companies/businesses and/or individuals who will make a pledge as part of our Big Give Christmas Challenge 2024. Our target is to achieve £2,500 in pledges by 30th August 2024 (suggested pledge is £500). Big Give Champions will then match these pledges bringing the total to £5,000.

Then, in just one week (3-10 December), we will be seeking to raise £5,000 through online donations from our supporters. Your pledge and those of the Big Give Champions will be released to us as match funding to the donations we receive during the Big Give Week.

The funds will be used for developing a new day service session for adults with learning disabilities. This will increase the number of people who can access our community and the holistic support we offer.

We offer meaningful and purposeful occupation – giving our Service Users (or Makers as we know them) the opportunities to make decisions, choose activities and shape each day. We have all sorts of amazing activities, including drama, dance, singing, music, woodwork, painting, gardening, and cooking to name a few. Most importantly, our Day Services are about friendship, about sharing life together, supporting one another and encouraging each other!

Kay Labate, Trustee and Chair of Resources Team: “This year we’re looking to raise at least of £10,000. In order to create a matching pot of £5,000, we need to raise £2,500 in pledges – a big ask for a small charity! We hope everyone will give generously to help us reach our target and enable us to grow the work of the Life Project we are all so passionate about.”

How can you pledge?

[If we have reached our pledge target and you would like to support us, hold onto your donation and give during the Big Give week (3rd to 9th December 2024) so it can be doubled – we will send you a reminder.]

Thank you for your kind consideration and generous support.

About Big Give

https://linktr.ee/TheBigGive

Big Give is a registered charity (1136547) that runs match funded campaigns for charities and special causes at key moments across the year. By connecting charities to match funders (like philanthropists, foundations or corporates) and the public, Big Give helps them double their donations. And, in doing so, makes an extraordinary difference to the world’s biggest challenges. It has raised more than £236m for charities, to date. It’s a simple idea – when the public donates to a charity through a Big Give campaign, it asks funders (philanthropists, foundations, government departments or corporates) to match that donation. So £50 from a member of the public becomes £100 for a good cause.

Big Give has supported more than 10,000 charities and has worked with some of the biggest names in UK philanthropy and charitable grant-making, which provide match funding, including DCMS, People’s Postcode Lottery, Candis Club Magazine, EQ Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, The Reed Foundation, The Waterloo Foundation, The Hospital Saturday Fund, The Childhood Trust and others including high-net-worth individuals such as Julia and Hans Rausing.
